But still, it was not easy and was a steep learning curve for us all as a family. I threw myself into finding out as much as I could about how to live and thrive with Celiac disease, its hurdles, health complications and how I could be an ally and advocate for her. Once we were established and settled into our new reality, I shifted my focus to teaching her how be her own advocate and to take the reins when needed.
